Israeli Defense Force officials claim the attack targeted a Hamas command center embedded in the area.
4 explosions were reported by locals.
The Al-Mawasi tent city has been a ‘safe zone’ ever since Israel designated it as such during the IDF ground invasion of Khan Younis.

According to rescuers on the ground, there are still dozens missing. The Palestinian civil defense and other international aid organizations are working tirelessly to save as many lives as possible- with first responders and civilians retrieving unclaimed body parts throughout the encampment.
Hamas continues to deny that any of its members exist within civilian gatherings or use safe zones as places for military purposes- something international governments dispute.
