Biden Legacy: Pardon or Cover-Up?
The recent pardon of Hunter Biden is a blatant abuse of privilege. This pardon is not just about tax evasion or firearms charges. The pardon conveniently swept aside an entire decade of wrongdoing, including crimes that have not been fully realized. Among the transgressions forgiven are Hunter’s tax evasion conviction in 2015 and his firearm violation in 2018. The extension of the pardon to 2014, the same year Hunter joined the Burisma board, is no coincidence. There has been, and still is, widespread speculation about corruption and bribery tied to ongoing criminal connections with the Ukrainian government. Designating the pardon to cover that specific time is essentially a public admission of his son’s guilt.
Biden and his syndicate long maintained that Hunter would not receive a pardon and that he would be held responsible for his actions. Shocker, they lied. On December 1, president Biden issued a blanket pardon of Hunter for all crimes he may, or may not, have committed from 2014 to the present. The timing could indicate his actions were a direct response to President-elect Trump formally naming Kash Patel as his nomination for director of the FBI on November 30. However, Joe justified his actions by claiming that these investigations and convictions were due to existing biases based on his political status. He is correct.
Without Joe Biden’s political status, Hunter is just another crooked disbarred attorney and drug addict forgotten by the system and destined to rot in prison. Instead, he leveraged his father’s power to enter the elite world of international white-collar crime for which he will, now, never face the consequences. The contents of Hunter’s laptop revealed a life of debauchery and crime, not that of an innocent victim. In 2014, with his father’s influence as a sitting Vice President, Hunter secured international ties and quid-pro-quo deals that common criminals could only dream of.
The scandal does not stop with Hunter. The president’s complicity is evident. As a father with power, Joe Biden’s role in enabling and excusing his son’s behavior is an egregious abuse of power. While Joe’s own involvement in the corruption in Ukraine is undeniable, he already cannot be prosecuted for his actions in Ukraine, as per the Trump vs. the United States decision. With the stroke of a pen, the Biden crime family is officially free and clear.
The entire situation stinks of nepotism and a blatant disregard for accountability. Hunter Biden is not a victim. Joe Biden’s handling of this situation not only undermines the judiciary but also erodes trust in the presidency.
