Biden Legacy: Pardon or Cover-Up?

Why the Left Lost

In recent months, the left has rediscovered their distaste for the voice of citizens. In response, they’ve launched an increasingly aggressive campaign to silence what they label as “hate speech” on social media platforms. This movement is not another simple examination of corporate practice, it is a direct attack on the First Amendment itself. While most major social media platforms have been ‘mentioned’, this examination appears to have a more narrow target. Specifically, Elon Musk and his management of X has found himself in the crosshairs. Suspiciously, this comes following his endorsement of Donald Trump and may represent a darker reality.

Musk speaks to an entire generation like a modern-day Tony Stark. As the world’s richest man, his influence is immense. His willingness to speak out against the liberal narrative has made him a target of corporate lawfare as well as personal attacks. Due to his recent revisioning of the X platform, he has found himself the target of heavy criticism. Regardless, the fact remains–the man is a genius and a champion for the people. These tactics merely underscore their fear of dissenting voices. Instead of targeting the actual issues, they prefer to resort to character assassination.

People appear to not understand that suppressing opinions does not make them disappear. Turning off the lights neither makes monsters appear or disappear. Similarly, censoring speech does not resolve underlying issues–it drives them underground and allows them to fester. Ignorance does not generally lead to bliss.

It’s essential to remember that the First Amendment protects all speech, not just the speech you like. That said, the speech found on social media sites is already regulated. Illegal speech remains illegal and allowing free speech does not imply a freedom from consequences. With these limitations already in place, We The People must be willing to defend not only our rights, but also the rights of the citizens we disagree with. Instead of silencing our voices, maybe it’s time to acknowledge the issues that the people are expressing concern about.

Because in spite of the rhetoric, we must stand firm against any efforts to suppress free speech. Supporting individuals who challenge the status quo, like Musk, is critical to maintaining our way of life and protecting foundational rights at all levels.  A society that fears discourse is on the path to tyranny. It is yet to be seen if this deceptive crusade will continue beyond this election season or if the pageantry of compassion will end as soon as it is no longer tactically beneficial.
