Ukraine conducted a drone attack deep into Russia Wednesday morning, causing an alleged “earthquake-sized” explosion at a suspected arms depot in the Tver Oblast roughly 300 miles west of Moscow.

According to local media reports, the explosion forced the evacuation of a nearby town.
NASA satellite thermal imagery picked up a heat signature about 5 square miles in size originating from the site early in the morning, while local earthquake monitoring stations sensed a small earthquake.

Russian state media was not allowed to report on the incident, showing that Russian military censorship laws are preventing the military loss from being publicized.
The governor of Tver Oblast, Igor Rudenya, announced that several Ukrainian drones were shot down and that a fire had broken out, causing some residents to evacuate their homes in the vicinity of the fires.
According to Reuters, an unidentified source in the Ukrainian security service said the target was a weapons cache storing smart bombs, artillery, and other types of missiles.
