Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy traveled to the US Monday in hopes of convincing his ‘closest’ ally to allow the use of American-made weapons for offensive purposes deep into the heart of Russia.

Zelenskyy says he has a plan he wants to present to President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and former President Donald Trump- in case he wins the race in November. He also intends to address the UN General Assembly tomorrow to lay out plans and raise more money for his war efforts.
In Zelenskyy’s estimation, if this plan gets backing in Washington, it will signal to the Kremlin that he has backing regardless of who wins the US Presidential election in November and will hopefully bring Moscow to the peace table.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that there will be no peace unless Ukraine hands over territory in eastern and southern Ukraine and gives up on joining NATO.
Russia controls nearly 20% of Ukraine and is set to take Pokrovsk, a key logistics hub in Eastern Ukraine which would spell disaster for the Ukrainian army.
Zelenskyy’s plan involves using US and Western-made munitions to strike at least 300 miles into Russia, a tactic that US officials have stated would not alter the strategic outcome.
