MOSCOW/KYIV, Oct 12 (The Real Republic) -Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported that its forces intercepted 47 Ukrainian drones overnight. This includes 17 drones downed in the Krasnodar region, 16 over the Azov Sea, and 12 in the border region of Lursk. No casualties were immediately reported from these incidents.
In response, the Ukrainian Air Force stated that Russia launched 28 drones at Ukraine, of which 24 were destroyed. The regions affected included Sumy, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, and Kherson.
Ukrainian military officials indicated that their forces successfully struck a fuel depot in the Russian-occupied Luhansk region, igniting a fire. Details surrounding the attack were not disclosed, and Moscow has not confirmed the incident.

Additionally, Russia announced the capture of the front-line villages of Zhelanne Druge and Ostrivske in eastern Ukraine, marking recent territorial gains. The Ukrainian military noted that Ostrivske is situated on the eastern banks of the Kurakhove reservoir, an area where Russian forces are intensifying their offensive.
Overnight strikes by Russian forces on Odesa resulted in the deaths of four individuals, including a teenage girl, and left 10 others injured. Regional governor Oleg Kiper reported that a two-storey building was destroyed in the attack, with victims including a 43-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man.
In the Donetsk region, which Russia claims as its territory, local authorities reported one fatality in the Pokrovsk district amid ongoing Russian advances.
