Moscow, Oct 20 (The Real Republic) – The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Sunday that its forces intercepted more than 100 Ukrainian drones attempting to strike various targets across the country overnight.
The ministry described the operation as a successful defense against what it termed a “terrorist attack” orchestrated by the Kyiv regime using UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) aimed at the Russian Federation.

The ministry described the operation as a successful defense against what it termed a “terrorist attack” orchestrated by the Kyiv regime using UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) aimed at the Russian Federation.
In total, 110 drones were intercepted or destroyed, with 43 downed over the Kursk Region, where hostilities have intensified since early August. Additionally, 27 drones were neutralized over the Lipetsk Region, 18 over Oryol Region, and eight over Nizhny Novgorod Region. The Belgorod and Bryansk Regions saw seven and six drones shot down, respectively, while one was downed near Moscow.
Governor Gleb Nikitin of Nizhny Novgorod Region reported that the attack targeted an industrial area outside the region’s main city, located about 800 kilometers from the front lines. Preliminary information indicated that four firefighters sustained minor injuries from shrapnel.
