Newly elected Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed Monday morning that his country will never cease developing its ballistic missile program. Iran views the development of these weapons as a strategy of deterrence, a stance disputed by the West due to Iran’s history of arming and aiding proxy terror organizations that harm the US and its allies.

Pezeshkian believes that without ballistic-capable munitions, Israel and other regional powers would be able to strike anywhere in the region with impunity.
