Geert Wilders Gets Another Death Threat
Far-left extremists have claimed responsibility for a disturbing death threat directed at Dutch populist leader Geert Wilders. The threat involved an effigy of Wilders, leader of the Party for Freedom (PVV), hanging from a noose.

Wilders, who has long been a target for threats due to his outspoken views on Islam and immigration, shared the chilling images with his followers. The incident occurred in the Dutch town of Dokkum last week. Photographs, published on the Antifa-affiliated Indymedia platform, depicted a mannequin resembling Wilders with a blonde wig, wearing a shirt emblazoned with the PVV logo, and suspended by a noose.
The effigy was displayed outside the St. Boniface chapel, a historically significant site where the saint was murdered in 754 AD by Frisian bandits. Beneath the effigy, a banner read: “PVV = NSB,” equating Wilders’ party with the National Socialist Movement in the Netherlands (NSB), a pro-Nazi political group during World War II. The banner further declared: “THIS IS HOW FASCISTS END.”
The incident has largely been ignored by mainstream Dutch media but is a stark reminder of the ongoing threats Wilders faces. This act of intimidation comes nearly 20 years after Wilders and his wife were forced into protective custody after receiving death threats from radical Islamists. Since then, the couple has lived under 24/7 security, constantly relocated to safe houses.
Wilders, a key figure in the current Dutch coalition government after his party’s success in last year’s elections, marked the grim anniversary on Monday, saying: “I fight for the freedom of the Dutch people every day because I know how dangerous it is to live without freedom.”
