Venezuela’s National Electoral Council declared incumbent Nicolas Maduro the victor in the July election, his third six-year term. Unsurprisingly, the council cannot publish an official breakdown of the election results because the data is “corrupted”.
Edmundo González Urrutia won the elections in Venezuela with around 71% of the votes, according to the public analysis of the electoral records.

The decision has been internationally disputed, especially by the United States who have officially recognized Gonzalez the real winner.
27 people have been killed and 200 have been injured by government forces in mass protests across the country.
