Police in Germany have arrested an assailant in western Germany after he killed three people and wounded eight in a knife attack.
The attack occurred at the Festival of Diversity in Solingen, North Rhine-Westphalia as the city celebrates its 650th anniversary. Roughly 80,000 were in attendance near the border with the Netherlands.

The perpetrator was described as “Arab-looking”.

German authorities announced they were investigating the situation, implementing a security cordon around the area to question bystanders.
Performers on stage were told to continue playing their music to not cause widespread panic.
Police officials detailed that the attacker was “going for throats”.
