Montana’s Supreme Court sided with Planned Parenthood on Wednesday, ruling that underage girls do not need their parent’s permission to get an abortion. The ruling does not mention whether or not the would-be mothers require consent from the baby for the “procedure”.
Planned Parenthood of Montana President, Martha Fuller argues that it is a right to privacy issue for the young girls.
Montana still has a law that requires “providers” to notify the parents of a minor when seeking an abortion. It is also under a legal challenge.
Abortion up to 24 weeks has been legal in Montana since 1999.
