KHARKIV, Oct 9 (The Real Republic) – Russian attacks on Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, have resulted in the deaths of at least two people and injuries to more than 30 others, including a teenager.
On Tuesday afternoon, Russian forces dropped approximately four guided bombs on Kharkiv, located about 30 kilometers (18 miles) from the Russian border, according to Governor Oleh Syniehubov. One bombing attack killed a man and a woman walking on the street, while at least three others were injured.
An earlier attack in the city injured 28 people, including a 16-year-old. Authorities are currently working to verify the type of weapon used in that incident. Syniehubov and Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov confirmed that a civilian production facility was hit, resulting in a fire.

Kharkiv has frequently been targeted by Russian attacks since the onset of Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Last week, a Russian-guided bomb struck a five-story apartment block, injuring 10 people.
In September, several attacks on the city resulted in casualties, including the deaths of three people when a guided bomb hit an apartment building. Additionally, dozens were injured when a missile struck a shopping mall and sports center earlier that month.

On the same day as the Kharkiv attacks, Ukrainian authorities reported civilian casualties in the south and east of the country. In the Zaporizhia region, a 71-year-old man was killed in a drone attack while traveling in his car in the village of Prymorske. A woman with him was hospitalized.
In the eastern town of Kostiantynivka, a Russian attack killed one person and injured six others when three guided aerial bombs struck two residential buildings, according to regional officials.
