In the book “Dante’s Inferno,” the titular Dante travels through all nine circles of Hell with his guide Virgil and in all nine circles, Virgil points out notable sinners damned for eternity for the life they lived on Earth. The sins they carry in life are repaid in death in various symbolic ways. For example, Lust is a hot blowing wind from a source that cannot be stopped, or Avarice sinners are bathed in molten gold, etc. The final circle is a frozen hellscape reserved for the worst sins: betrayal. The final circle is a place of absolute cold where betrayers frozen in ice and where Satan sets upon them for eternity; infamous betrayers like Judas or Butus are here. These men either betrayed their God for personal gain like Judas or, in the case of Brutus, out of a misguided and misplaced loyalty to an idea that had long since passed away. The 9th circle, a place of absolute cold and biting wind, is symbolic of the act of betrayal. Freezing a trusted person out, shutting away any feeling you had for the person you are betraying, inviting the cold of the world into their life by taking away your warmth so in death, these men will know no warmth for eternity.
So great is the act of betrayal that, throughout history and in almost all cultures, it is the worst thing you could do to a person. In American history, we only need to look back to the beginning with Benedict Arnold, once a hero to the American colonies, to sell us out for money and a small promotion. The footnotes of history are littered with stories of betrayal.
Speaker Johnson has betrayed us—plain and simple. The House passed a bill giving Ukraine an additional 60 billion in aid, a bill that could have included funding for the border—funding that could have strengthened our border security. Instead, he signed off on the bill without funding for our southern border.
The question everyone should be asking is what deal did Speaker Johnson make with the Hakeem Jeffries to get the Democrats on the Rules Committee to vote for a Republican rule on the foreign war package which includes $60+ BILLION more to Ukraine?

This never happens.… pic.twitter.com/mB7BBgzDnZ
One can only ask why Speaker Johnson refuses to address the Southern border; what logic is behind this decision-making? Honestly, I have no idea… I won’t speculate as to what his motives might be. All I know is what I see, and Speaker Johnson has not and does not represent the interests of the people he was elected by and for.
The second betrayal is not doing everything in his power to get the J6 prisoners released. This is a no-brainer. It wasn’t a riot. It was a protest; this whole thing was overblown by the legacy media, who needed something, anything, to keep Trump from running for president again. Yet again, the Speaker fully funded the Justice Dept, the same DOJ that is persecuting the J6ers as well as Trump. It seems weird that the Speaker for the party desperately seeking the White House again would sit on his hands and allow the political witch hunt of our best chance to regain it.
You FULLY FUNDED the DOJ that is prosecuting J6 defendants and President Trump!!!
— Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene🇺🇸 (@RepMTG) April 22, 2024
You could have defunded these political prosecutions in your omnibus, fired US attorney Matthew Graves, fired Jack Smith, and demanded an end to this.
You could pass my bill the Matthew Perna Act… https://t.co/hOGGS6EWFB
The Speaker speaks for someone, but it isn’t us. He speaks more for people in other countries than us. Hell, when the president of another country takes to X to praise the Speaker while members of his party distance themselves from him. That says all I need to know about the quality of his leadership.
Zelensky thanks Speaker Mike Johnson (D-Ukraine) for sending $61 BILLION of your hard-earned tax dollars to fuel a foreign war.
— Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene🇺🇸 (@RepMTG) April 20, 2024
Johnson once again passed a bill with the help of Democrats while the majority of the Republican majority voted against it.
Not only is Mike Johnson… pic.twitter.com/jO2l3LymZp
As you can see, President Zelensky has high praise for him, all while men in his own country are dying wholesale fighting Russia. And why would he praise the Speaker? Because he knows that without funding from the US, his cause is lost, he will sing the praises of the man who made that happen.
At least we have some common good in the House; between Thomas Massie, Jim Jordan, and Marjorie Taylor Greene, we’ve got some folks willing to stand on business. I’ve not always been the biggest fan of MTG, but lately, she’s been one of my favorites. Why? Because she’s one of the only ones pointing out the insanity of spending money, we don’t have funding for a war we don’t like for people who will never pay us back. To her credit, she was right about not wanting to remove Mcarthy. I doubt he’d have been this bad on border security. He was ready to hear impeachment inquiries on the President over Burisma over Hunter Biden’s laptop. Remember when impeachment was a thing? I guess the GOP forgot or something because that’s not happening. We haven’t heard a peep since Speaker Johnson took over. The only olive branch given is that the House managed to impeach Mayorka for all the good that it did, considering the Senate shot that down.
Speaker Mike Johnson wants to fund Ukraine's border security.
— Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene🇺🇸 (@RepMTG) April 20, 2024
I want to fund AMERICA'S border security.
That's why I introduced an amendment to replace the Ukraine blood money bill with HR 2, the strongest border security bill ever passed in the House. pic.twitter.com/uAOZdP3rNt
All these things lead me to the conclusion that Speaker Johnson needs to go. Of course, the logical question is who would be next, and honestly, I don’t care. If we have to run through a dozen or more people to get to someone with a spine, then so be it. If nothing gets done in the meantime, again, so be it. I’d rather have gridlock than one more cent being sent to Ukraine to fund a war I’m entirely ambivalent about. Will anything come of MTG’s push to remove the Speaker? Unlikely. Frankly, the GOP has decided to wave the white flag. The Never Trump crowd has blossomed and has overrun the party. The GOP has punted on this election and is looking forward to 2028.
With friends like Speaker Johnson, who needs enemies?
