It’s no surprise that today’s classrooms are becoming more and more progressive. With the recent societal push toward radical leftist views, it was only a matter of time before the “woke” began to infiltrate our children’s minds. It is almost always painted as some ambiguous version of the “you should accept everyone for who they are” bullshit. But anyone with a brain knows exactly what it is: the attempt of the Marxist left-wingers to force their ideology on our children to tighten the grip on conservative values and morals. Unfortunately for parents, this is one of the few places where problems can arise where we are beginning to see we have little to no control.
A prime example of that loss of control comes from a school district in Missouri. In a leaked email from the district’s Coordinator of Literacy and Speech, she urges Language Arts instructors for grades 6 – 12 to remove certain learning plans from the view of parents on their school’s website. Namely, things that some parents had sent complaints about. She also urges her teachers to use different language to appease the parents, such as using “take a stance” instead of “activist”, but not to change any of the core lessons taught in the curriculum. This is just one instance that was luckily brought to the attention of the parents of this school. But imagine what doesn’t get caught. How many other public-school teachers are doing this across the country that we may never know about? How many teachers may even be going over their administration’s head to teach your child some crooked half-brained bullshit that should’ve had them sent to the looney bin? You can read the email for yourself here.
Possibly even more concerning is what we DO see- the blatant activism in the classroom, the obvious conversations that are being had with our children regarding sexual orientation and/or gender identity, the labeling of “oppressor” or “oppressed” based on skin color, sex, and sexual orientation. Gone are the days of little Billy hopping off the bus and telling us about what games he played during recess or what he did during art class that day. Now when little Billy gets off the bus he talks about how just because he has a penis that doesn’t make him a boy, or maybe how he was made to feel embarrassed by his teacher because he didn’t know what to say when she asked what his pronouns were. As if anyone, adult, or child, should ever be pressured to answer such a question. This is the crap they are feeding our 5th graders. Not teenagers that are soon-to-be adults…5th graders. Along with this, many schools are now requiring that both students and teachers alike share details about themselves to be labeled on a scale as if to be placed on some “oppression matrix”. Black students and teachers are being infantilized causing shame and embarrassment. If you ask me, it seems like this “wokeism” in the public school system is more racist and transphobic than the right has ever been.
Get your kids out of woke public schools until creeps like this guy are all fired...

The real question is: can parents fight back to stop this nonsense? Unfortunately, it is a bit of a convoluted answer. The fight to keep our children safe in public schools is certainly an uphill battle. As discussed, there are educators out there who will do almost anything to hide what they are teaching in their classroom. Even if it means hiding from the school administration. But the most difficult battle facing parents today is higher-level universities. For decades, universities have taught with a foundation of progressive ideologies. In today’s world, that rings truer than ever as we see many college campuses front and center on headline news for their extremely progressive outbursts. For regular parents with their kids in the public education system, this means when the older generation of teachers moves out, the new generation, taught by these “high caliber” universities, will move in.
The biggest asset that normal American parents have in their pocket today is the homeschooling system. Thanks to COVID, more children are being homeschooled today than at any other time in recent history, and for good reason. Unfortunately, not every family can homeschool their kids, and for that reason, we ALL have a responsibility to stand up for the children in the public school system. We must continue the fight against progressive universities and the whack jobs they produce. So, we do have some hope, but the fight for parents to regain control over public education and play the dominant role in the formation of our children will be a long and uphill battle. But it is a battle that must be fought for the future generations of our country.
