The Russian Defense Ministry identified the border towns of Uspenovka and Borki as the liberated settlements.
Ukraine claims that it controls about 500 square miles in Kursk, something the Kremlin disputes.

As the battle for Kursk continues, Russian forces are making steady headway in Eastern Ukraine towards Pokrovsk, an important logistics hub in Donetsk Oblast.
Russian President Vladimir Putin says that the Ukrainian decision to invade Kursk has drawn dwindling Ukrainian forces from their Eastern front and has allowed his troops to gain easy ground as they continue their march Westward.

Roughly 100 servicemen traded on both sides.
Most of the returning Russians were captured in Kursk.

The two nations reportedly conducted 2 large prisoner-of-war exchanges. Several hundred captured on both sides during operations in Kursk were returned.
