Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly pushed back on cease fire negotiation conditions that Israel must evacuate the Philadelphi Corridor in the south of the Gaza Strip.
Netanyahu believes that Israel must control the corridor because Hamas smuggles weapons and fighters through the area by way of Egypt and checkpoints that are in place limit Hamas’s ability to transport resources into the north.
The Gaza/Egypt border, the so called, Philadelphi Corridor, is a crossing point for weapons and war materials to terrorists.

He has agreed to shift one Israeli checkpoint a few hundred meters, but nothing more.
Netanyahu’s negotiation team, led by US educated Mossad chief David Barnea, has faced criticism from Netanyahu for making too many concessions on Israel’s behalf.
